PRACTICAL WORK HISTORY
2005-Present Virtual Assistant, Avalon Virtual Assistance, Hahira, GA October
2005 to present. I provide quality virtual administrative and secretarial services to
individuals and companies with work overflow and special projects at reasonable
rates. All skills obtained during my career are utilized including but not limited to
proficient software operation, communications skills, multi-tasking, organizational
skills, personal, professional, and public relations.
Office Manager, Valdosta, GA March 2005 to present. Duties include
processing loan contracts for customers, maintaining daily work records, inventory,
warranties, filing title transfers, monthly reporting, providing customer service both
over the phone as well as within the office and assisting sales and parts staff as
needed. Excellent communication skills, multi-tasking abilities, and strong
organizational skills are required for this position.
2003-2005 Administrative Assistant/CSR, Hahira, GA August 2003 to
present. Duties included opening and maintaining new accounts, processing loans,
processing cash letter adjustments to the Federal Reserve, sweep accounts to The
Bankers Bank, Merchant Visa/Mastercard accounts, account input, and provide
extensive customer service including bookkeeping and troubleshooting functions, as
well as research and follow up on issues for our customers for all types of accounts,
both Deposits and Loans. Knowledge of Deposit and Loan operations and
regulations, excellent communications skills, multi-tasking abilities, and strong
organizational skills were required for this position.
2002-2003 Deposit Operations Clerk, Valdosta, GA November 2002 to
August 2003. Duties included providing extensive assistance to telephone customers
with their accounts, research and follow up on issues for customers with Deposit
accounts as well as internal problems, cash letter adjustments to Federal Reserve,
maintaining sweep accounts to The Bankers Bank, keying all new accounts to the
system, all account maintenance, processing all new account paperwork, processing
NSF’s, tracking and maintaining overdraft accounts, all bookkeeping functions, wire
transfers, FedLine DOS/Web operations, The Bankers Bank Connection 2000
Operations, and processing paid out loan files. Knowledge of Deposit and Loan
operations and regulations, excellent communications skills, multi-tasking abilities, and
strong organizational skills were required for this position.
2001-2002 Certified Massage Therapist, Valdosta, GA June 2001 to
November 2002. Provided therapuetic massage and other spa services to our clientele.
2001-2002 Account Executive, Data Supplies Source, Inc. Hahira, GA June
2001 to present. I sold bank supplies from home.
2000-2001 Certified Massage Therapist/Owner, Avalon Wellness Center,
Adel, GA January 2001 to June 2001. Owner and operator of the wellness center. I
provided therapeutic massage to the community.
1999-2000 Student, CORE Institute. May 2000 to December 2000. I
attended and graduated Massage Therapy School.
Wife and Homemaker, January 1999 to May 2000. I took a break from full time
employment to be at home for my children.
1998-1999 Sales Representative, Jacksonville, FL August 1998 to January
1999. Duties included generating new accounts/sales volume for cleaning supply and
equipment portion of the business. Responsible for finding problems and creating
solutions to those problems, creating rapport with the customer and the ultimate
end-result, a new account. Good communication and presentation skills are utilized
heavily. 12 new accounts were created under my salesmanship since August.
1996-1998 Installation Project Manager, Hahira, GA February 1996 to
August 1998. Duties included management of software configuration and installation
for 5 different software packages and PC hardware configuration. Providing thorough
instruction to clients on steps involved each installation process. Scheduling
11independent contractors, 5 product technicians, and 3 in-house installers
throughout the installation process. Continuous contact with the client for proactively
and as follow through. Providing weekly status reports to the Sales and Marketing
Dept. and Senior Management. On-going effort in stream-lining installation process for
more advantageous benefits to the customer. Duties also included educating clients
in CustomerLink software. Excellent communications skills, multi-tasking abilities,
strong organizational skills were utilized in this position.
1995-1996 Service Bureau Client Support/Computer Operator 1, Charlotte,
NC. December 1994 to Jan 1996. Duties included providing client support for issues
involving Liberty Software and all auxiliary software products sold by Jack Henry &
Associates, Inc. Also, providing necessary client training and education in the use of
Liberty and all auxiliary software products, assist in new client migrations/conversions,
assist clients in POD transmission areas: IBM 3694, Lundy MRS-90, and NCR7770.
Other essential functions were assisting in the daily functions of the Service Bureau as
needed, monitor instructions from second shift operator as to jobs not completed, and
complete same as required, Clear and manage client outques, perform master file
backups as required to keep current backups for clients, research using DCR Treev
and LaserTrieve, investigate and resolve problems involving program errors, power or
communication failures, etc., Backup first shift operator in the performance of that
position's job functions. Skills and education required for this position are Data
processing background in areas of IBM System/36, IBM AS/400, Personal computers,
Telecommunications, knowledge of community banking through education or on-the-
job training, excellent communication skills, oral and written, in order to deal with
clients effectively and ensure a good rapport, being detail oriented with strong
organizational skills.
1992-1994 System Operator, Data Processing Manager, Nashville, GA. May
1987 to December 1994. Duties included system operation, responsible for the
operations of the Proof Dept. Responsible for all software installation as well as
hardware within the bank (Main office and Branch). Responsible for employee
training of all software and hardware within the bank (Main office and Branch).
Responsible for ordering all computer supplies. Also included in posting general ledger,
printing all notices, reports, and statements needed for daily work. Processing ACH
files daily, printing CD interest checks, process daily updates to all applications,
system backups, system updates, processing Credit Bureau information, processing
Loan Coupons, and updating and maintaining the Safe Deposit Box system.
1987-1992 Proof Operator/Asst. System Operator, Duties included
operation of the proof machine, balancing in-house cashiers, expense, interest checks
to the general ledger, making necessary changes to the demand deposit and savings
accounts, and posting general ledger on a weekly rotation. Self-motivation is very
vital to the responsibilities of this position. When working in the Asst. System
operator capacity, duties were the same as the System Operator. Bookkeeping skills
were required for the duties in this position.
1987-1987 Teller, Duties included operating a teller window, waiting on
customers, in person as well as over the phone. Communication skills in customer
relations is required for the duties in this position.
1985-1987 Secretary and Office Manager, Valdosta, GA., January 1986 to
May 1987. Duties included were extensive typing and filing, good motivational skills,
good telephone and communication skills were utilized, and organizational skills were
required.
EDUCATION
1989-1991 Attended Valdosta State College to obtain by Associates of
Applied Science degree in accordance with my Valdosta Technical Institute training in
business.
1986-1987 Graduated from Valdosta Technical Institute in the Business and
Office Occupations program in March 1987.
INTERESTS & ACTIVITIES
Enjoy photography, reading, music, riding mountain and road bikes, and spending
time with my family. I also enjoy participating in self-improvement classes and
activities.
COMPUTER SKILLS
I have extensive experience in typing, filing, telephone, keypunch data entry, and
excellent communication skills. I am experienced in seeing that projects are on
